Turkey has said it is ready to hold talks with Greece over rising tensions over gas and oil reserves in the Mediterranean region.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said his country accepts the proposal for unconditional talks on the possibility of equitable sharing of resources in the maritime zone.
The tension has seen the two neighboring nations flex their muscles by performing military luteka. Turkey's stance comes after efforts by German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, who visited Turkey and Greece yesterday to try to calm the escalating conflict.
Greece has said it will agree to hold talks to find a solution to the ongoing conflict but not under threat from Turkey. This was stated by Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias after holding a meeting with Maas in Athens.
Maas has received a few encouraging promises from the two sides, who are still exchanged words on the issue of the ongoing conflict.
