Donald Trump and Joe Biden are both claiming leadership in the US general election at a time when the final results are about to be released and both sides are demanding legal action.
The Trump campaign has criticized the vote counting process in key states of Wisconsin, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Michigan. The BBC predicts that Mr Biden has won Michigan. U.S. media predict that he has captured the state of Wisconsin.
No results were released in the state of Pennsylvania. Leading into all three key states will give Biden victory. Mr Biden stopped announcing his victory, but said he was sure he was on his way to defeat Donald Trump.
The overall turnout for Tuesday's election is said to be the largest turnout in 120 years, which is 66.9%, according to election officials.
