Opposition politicians in Ivory Coast have refused to break up their transitional government, which they formed after Saturday's general election, and which President Alllasane Outtara won a third term in office.
The politicians formed their own government after boycotting the election, claiming that Ouattara's move to run for a third term in office was unconstitutional. Some of these politicians are being detained by police in their homes.
And in neighboring Guinea, political unrest continues after the general election after President Alpha Conde ran for a third term, a move that the opposition says is unconstitutional.
Investors in the two countries have expressed concern that the crisis could affect the economies of the two countries and jeopardize security in a region that has been plagued by political unrest since the 1990's.
