Our Women Are Cold In Bed Time - Meru men complain

Collins 0
Men from Karama village, Akirangondu ward, Igembe Central constituency have been hit by water shortages that keep their wives from sleeping in bed all night.

They complain that the lack of water has forced their wives to stay awake day and night outside their homes instead of heating their beds.

Some men worry that their marriage is on the verge of a breakdown because of the absenteeism of their wives who go to fetch water from a small stream, which takes a lot of time.

Men in Meru County complain of cold in bed

"We are starving in the cold beds while our wives spend many hours especially at night waiting in long queues for jars and making us lose our marital rights," complains resident Ntarangwi Karithi.

The residents asked the county government to dig a well to ease congestion on the small stream and to avoid the escape of their wives day and night.

They accused local MCA Richard Gitari of negligence and isolation during project allocations, further demanding that the county government through the governor intervene.

They also found that apart from their marriages being in danger, their children and their wives were at risk of insecurity at night.

They also pointed out that the small stream is muddy and puts them at risk of waterborne diseases.

Efforts to reach the local MCA by telephone were fruitless.
