158,000 people have been reported affected by floods caused by heavy rains in Nigeria's Kebbi region.

Alhaji Tukur Abubakar, director of the National Emergency Disaster Management Agency (NEMA) in Kebbi and Sokoto regions, said 158,000 people had been affected by floods caused by heavy rains in 18 parts of Kebbi province in July.

Abubakar added that thousands of people have been forced to leave their flooded homes and cause temporary hardships in areas as the government strives to help them.

From August to the present, Nigeria has been hit by a devastating flood that has left at least 200 people dead.
