The EACC has dismissed allegations by Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru that the ongoing investigation into corruption was politically motivated.

EACC CEO Twalib Mbarak said Waiguru's case had been continuing for quite a long time even before he left the celebration administering party to join UDA.

He recalled that a corruption scandal against the Kirinyaga governor began when he was on the Jubilee side, saying his move to the UDA party might be a ploy to seek political support.

In an interview with the KNA news agency, he said the case file would be carefully scrutinized by several forensic experts before being submitted to the director of public prosecutions, Noordin Haji, for review and recommendations.

The inquiry into the 52 million shillings allocated for the 7,000-acre division of the Ngariama south settlement plan.

Earlier on Thursday, leaders supporting Deputy President Dr. William Ruto linked corruption cases against Governor Ann Waiguru with his move to disband the Jubilee party and join the United Democratic Alliance, UDA.
