The head of UNICEF in the west, Wangui Karanja, said the initiative was aimed at helping mothers and children access better health care and nutrition.
The county government invests 100 million shillings a year which is used to pay for every pregnant woman who gave birth and who visited her six times.
He noted that the program encourages pregnant women to attend clinics, ensure they deliver in a safe environment and also ensure their babies are vaccinated in a timely manner.
Similarly women who need family planning can receive the service.
Wangui said the program focuses on the first 1,000 days of a child's life to ensure they live in good health.
The initiative has supported 65,000 women in partnership with the county government since 2014.
