Millions of business owners in the country have found relief after the government announced it was scrapping a list of those who failed to repay loans at the popular Credit Reference Bureau - CRB.

This comes a year after the government gave creditors permission to continue doing so.

In a speech during the Heroes' Day, President Uhuru Kenyatta called for the move to be implemented by September next year.

The directive applies to businesses with loans of less than five million shillings.

This means that businesses that have repaid their loans in the past several years will not be listed on the CRB list for the next one year if they fail to repay their loans on time.

During his speech, President Kenyatta, said that many businesses, especially small and medium enterprises, are still not performing well due to the long-term effects of the corona virus epidemic.
