President Uhuru Kenyatta is saddened by the death of Cheptoo, a retired teacher when his family desperately needs him.
He added that the deceased had passed away after losing their father, Elder Edward Kiprotich Karoney, last year in a road accident.
The national leader said the legacy of the deceased will be remembered by the thousands of young people in Kenya whom he raised as a teacher.
"As a nation, we will always remember Nancy's great contribution to the education sector where she trained many Kenyans who are now active in various sectors of the nation," he lamented the President.
The leader of the nation prayed to God to give Karoney's family strength during this difficult time where they have lost their loved one.
