The Facebook company, which has recently been accused of misusing personal information, has now taken steps to change its name to Meta.

According to the chairman and who is also the chief executive officer of the social network company Mark Zuckerberg, the move aims to improve and also expand the services it provides to its customers.

However, Facebook has noted that the changes will not affect the names of its networks such as Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, but will change the name of the parent company only, from Facebook to Meta.

The change comes just days after a series of notorious scandals that have profoundly affected the company and scandals over the misuse of public information. For example, the leaking of confidential documents by one of the former employees at the company.

An employee by the name of Frances Haugen accused Facebook of caring more for profit than public information.

In 2015 Google took a similar decision to place all of its companies under the name Alphabet, where however the name has not yet remained in people's minds.
