Under these laws, public hospitals have been granted the freedom to purchase the necessary medicines and equipment. The two laws are the Busia County Health Fund and the Busia County Public Health Services Fund.
The governor of Busia state, Sospeter Ojamoong, who was speaking at the official launch of the lawsuit, explained that the Health Care Funding Act recognizes that money from hospital services is used at the hospital to improve it.
Regarding the public health care law, Governor Ojaamong said that it would help strengthen medical services that target the community and support the establishment of such programs in hospitals and also put in place regulatory programs.
Busia Deputy Governor Moses Mulomi says 41 million shillings has already been allocated for the extra budget while budget committee chairman Linus Asiba is urging governors to seek additional county funding from the central government.
