The Corporate governance Center will be assisted by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya to conduct the exercise.
The NOC-K central committee was forced to take such action after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, IEBC, which had previously overseen the election, withdrew from what it described as its many other responsibilities.
Noc-K president Dr Paul Tergat addressing the session said they were forced to appoint a new election board after the IEBC was late in confirming his resignation.
"It's been a month since we met here in Westlands to plan the election but due to the IEBC's delay in informing us of their resignation, we have been forced to speed up and appoint a new board where we have agreed that the Center for Corporate Governance will oversee the election with the help of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Kenya ”said Tergat.
A total of 13 seats are being contested in the election, which was delayed from last year due to the Covid 19 scandal.
