The 52 million shilling initiative, launched by County Governor James Nyoro, will be implemented at all 528 kindergarten education centers in the county.
The students will be given nutritious porridge from Monday to Friday, through the sustainable program which Nyoro said has been effectively funded through partners.
Participants in the program include JKUAT University), who ensure that the porridge contains high quality nutrients so that students can be healthy.
"Students will be given the porridge on weekdays and thus improve the concentration of students in the classroom, reduce malnutrition and also increase the number of students joining the school," said Nyoro.
Parents praised the project, saying it would cause more children to go to school.
