Two KDF security forces officers have been killed by suspected poachers in Laikipia County.
Sources suggest that the two officers were killed Wednesday evening after the poachers attacked them while digging a trench.
During the raid some KDF officers were injured.
The incident came after two GSU officers were shot dead by suspected robbers near the border between Kamwenje and Laikipia.
One GSU inspector general was injured in the incident. The officers were patrolling the area when they were attacked.
Rift Valley Regional Police Commander Fred Ochieng ’confirmed the incident but did not elaborate.
According to residents, 50 officers were patrolling the border between Laikipia and Baringo.
The case brings to light seven police officers killed in the area in the past two weeks.
More than 10 civilians have also been killed. Governor Ndiritu Muriithi condemned the case saying a lasting solution was needed.
