Rudisha undergoes a successful leg surgery

Two-time world champion in the 800 meters David Rudisha underwent fatal surgery last Saturday to remove swelling in his leg.

Through his Facebook page, Rudisha, who is also an Olympic champion, said he hoped to return to training and start competing, after the tumor was removed.

Rudisha, who holds the world record for the 800-meter dash for 40 minutes 40 seconds and 91 points, has not competed in any international competition since retaining the world title in London, England in 2017.
