Three terror suspects escape from Kamiti prison

The Criminal Investigation Department (DCI) has launched a manhunt for three terror suspects who escaped from Kamiti Central Prison on Monday morning.

According to DCI, the three, Musharaf Abdalla, Mohamed Ali Abikar and Joseph Juma Odhiambo escaped from the prison around 7pm.

It is not clear how the three managed to escape from the prison, where there is strict security.

A reward of 60 million shillings has been announced for anyone who will provide information to facilitate the arrest of the three.

Police say Musharaf Abdalla was arrested on September 30, 2012, for his involvement in a failed attempt to carry out a terrorist attack.

Mohamed Ali Abikar was arrested following his involvement in a terrorist attack on Garissa University on April 2, 2015.

Joseph Juma Odhiambo was arrested on November 21, 2019 in the Bulla Hawa area of ​​Somalia, trying to join Al-Shabaab.
