One police officer serving at Olmoran police station was injured after being shot in the Ratia area on the border between Laikipia and Baringo counties on Sunday.
Armed robbers attacked police officers patrolling the border following an attack in the Olmoran area where a resident was shot in the chest.
Laikipia County Police Commander John Nyoike, who confirmed the incident, said the officer was wounded in the hand and taken to Olmoran Health Center where he received first aid before being taken to Nyahururu Special Hospital and later to Nakuru Hospital where he was admitted.
The Laikipia and Baringo areas have been experiencing long-term insecurity, with the government deploying security forces to patrol.
