Rufftone, a gospel singer, is running for the Nairobi Senatorial seat in the August 9 election.

He is a member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), which is led by Deputy President William Ruto.

Rufftone addressed why he did not join ODM as his chosen political party in an interview with NTV last night.

In contrast to the UDA party, he claimed that the ODM party is characterized by hooliganism.

Rufftone gave the example of being chased by his brother, Daddy Owen, with a panga in 2007 after they had a political disagreement.

He was a member of the PNU, whereas Owen was a member of the ODM.

"I was born in this nation in Eastlands, and I recall my blood brother supporting ODM while I was at PNU in 2007," he remarked.

"However, when we had a disagreement in the morning, Daddy Owen had to rush out into the streets with several of his pals in pangas, intent on harming me."

The activities were criticized by Rufftone, who stated that ideology should sell rather than violence.

"You don't have to materialize physically to injure me verbally or physically when we disagree politically."

Rufftone was with Jalang'o, who is vying for the Langata Parliamentary seat.
