Eight individuals passed on the spot later a matatu they were going in smashed into a fixed truck along the Webuye-Eldoret parkway at day break on Sunday.

There were no survivors from the mishap that happened at Musembe region.

The driver of the truck the matatu smashed into, Nicholas Mwangi said he had halted behind one more trailer that had followed on he street to help the driver, when the speeding Nissan smiled into his truck from behind.

"I saw a truck ahead whose driver I realize that had slowed down out and about so I dialed back and halted behind him. In any case, minutes later I had landed I heard a bang and saw the matatu ripped off the rooftop," Mwangi said.

Mwangi was going towards Eldoret from Uganda.
