Nathaniel Kipkorir arap Tum, the previous long-serving Kenya Seed managing director, has died.
The 73-year-old previous MD passed away on Tuesday, February 22 at Nairobi hospital.
He succumbed to heart failure.
His son, Jacob Tum, affirmed the sad news, saying he passed on from heart failure and miloma.
It is without a doubt a fact that we lost Mzee at 7:28 am today (Tuesday) following battling miloma and heart failure for quite a while. The body is still lying at the clinic as the family thinks about the next move, "he told the star in a phone interview.
Jacob portrayed the demise of the family as a catastrophe for the family, saying they had lost a significant support point in their lives.
His demise comes scarcely a year after his significant other passed on.
Talking for the benefit of the board, the executives and staff of Kenya Seed, Fred Oloibe vowed to help the loved ones of the late Tum.
"We have learnt of the death of Dr Nathaniel Tum with shock and incredulity. "We join his family companions and family members in communicating our genuine sympathies," Mr. Oloibe said.
Tum filled in as the Managing Director of the goliath seed organization somewhere in the range of 1980 and 20O3 when he was sacked by the then Agriculture Minister, Kipruto Arap Kirwa.
Maize seed ranchers driven by John Kituyi communicated shock at the death of Tum, portraying him as a hero of the seed business who helped ranchers understand their true capacity.
"Tum was instrumental in aiding and empowering numerous ranchers to wander into what today has changed the monster organization into a force to be reckoned with," he said.
