Uhuru Is Hassling UDA Applicants, Particularly in Mt Kenya and Kisii Districts - Ruto Tells Kenyans

Deputy President William Ruto has blamed the Jubilee Government of hassling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) wannabes particularly in the vote-rich Mt Kenya area.

In an explanation on Thursday, UDA National Election Board (NEB) Chairperson, Anthony Mwaura, said President Uhuru's organization has been pressuring UDA wannabes in certain pieces of Mt Kenya district, Kisii and Nyamira regions to stop UDA and join the decision outfit.

"The UDA has noted with worries the consternation the underhand unlawful strategies being shown by the drained and frantic Jubilee party through government organizations to discourage our applicants from challenging in the August decisions,"

"A few UDA MCA hopefuls from Kirinyaga have been called and pressured to join the (Jubilee) party. They have been guaranteed cash and strategic help," Mwaura said.

"… we have seen facilitated provocations of UDA wannabes for gubernatorial, senate, Women Representative and Member of County Assembly positions," Mwaura said.

He further guaranteed that the terrorizing has appeared as captures, allegations of tax avoidance, exaggerated criminal accusations, and the utilization of phony assessments of public sentiment.

The party called attention to one time private collaborator to Interior CS Karanja Kibicho, one Arister Murimi, who is currently a state official as a chief at the National Land Commission as the driving force to the terrorizing endeavors.

As indicated by Mwaura, the couple has told UDA wannabes that there will be broad state-coordinated viciousness during UDA selections in President Uhuru's Mt Kenya area and consequently it was to the applicants' advantage to evacuate to Jubilee.

He refered to an occurrence wherein Kirinyaga County Majority Leader, Kamau Murango, was captured from his Embu home, headed to Nairobi DCI base camp, and addressed up to 2 am the next day.

"Police were later to advise him to change his political side to Jubilee Party with the goal that his hardships could end, a solicitation he declined, and thus he was approached to report DCI base camp one time per week," he said.
