He will be assisting a television presenter by the name of Nancy Isime of Nigeria. The organizers of the awards had previously announced Nancy Isime only as the event director via their Instagram account.
Omondi posted a poster on his Instagram account with a picture of himself and Nancy Isime saying that on that day they will be organizing a unique show.
The comedian has been nominated for three awards under the AEAUSA awards which are "SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCER OF THE YEAR", "BEST AFRICAN COMEDIAN" and "MEDIA PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR". In the best comedy unit, there is also another Kenyan who has been nominated and is Njugush.
Other Kenyan artists nominated for the award include Khaligraph who will be vying for the award for best hip hop or rap artist where he competes against Rosa Ree of Tanzania, AQ of Nigeria, Elow'n of Ivory Coast, Ko-C of Cameroon, Ice Prince of Nigeria, Nasty C of South Africa, Kao Denero of Sierra Leone, Sarkodie of Ghana and Vector from Nigeria.
Sauti Sol has been nominated for the award for best music group where other competitors include Best Life Music, Blacks, B2C, Navy Kenzo, R2 bees, Toofan, Calema, Dope Nation and Mobbers.
Nikita Kering will be vying for the award for the emerging best musician category where she fights with fellow Kenyan Trio Mio and Mimi Mars of Tanzania among many others.
Nadia Mukami will face Tanasha Donna, Zuchu, Nandy and Sho Madjozi among others in the category of best female musician in East, Southern and North Africa.
The nomination of candidates for the awards took place between June and August, the voting process is ongoing and began in October and ends in December and the awards ceremony will be held in December.
