Jimmy Wanjigi, a presidential candidate, has described how agents from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) stormed his Westlands offices on Monday evening.
Wanjigi, the Managing Director of the Kwacha Group of Companies, said armed police raided his offices at 9.30 p.m. on Monday and demanded that he be taken in for questioning.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga, he claims, are to blame for his current woes.
"Let them simply say it out loud." Uhuru Kenyatta has just stated the obvious. The saddest thing of all is to think that my friend Raila... Raila Amolo Odinga, for whom I almost lost my life, is sitting with him (Uhuru) somewhere probably enjoying this spectacle," Wanjigi said.
Despite the raid and attacks, Wanjigi has insisted that he would not be scared into abandoning his presidential campaign.
"They attempted this in 2017 and failed... It's the same game where they're attempting to frighten me.
"Some individuals are offended by my ideas or the way I talk... I don't say anything except the truth, and I don't believe there's anything wrong with it," he continued.
On Saturday, the millionaire visited Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka's rally at his Yatta farm, where he referred to Odinga as a tyrant and urged the Kamba area to back him.
"Kalonzo is the guy who has brought the Kamba community together, and he has not stated that he would retire from politics."
Wanjigi stated to Uhuru and Raila, "Support him and get rid of people who seek to split you."
