In a meeting that has rattled Deputy President William Ruto, President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga eventually met with OKA leaders late last night.
They met at State House at a meal hosted by Hungarian President Janos Ader, who was visiting the United States.
While the meeting's specifics have not been made public, Gideon Moi, Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi, and Kalonzo Musyoka were all there, according to a report from the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU).
The President had invited the world leaders to a banquet that lasted all night.
However, this is not the first time Odinga and OKA leaders have met with President Kenyatta at State House, with earlier encounters ruffling political feathers.
The meeting on Monday night comes only days after OKA principals declined to attend a luncheon at State House on January 13, despite being invited.
Wetangula reported to media on January 14 that they got the invitations after they had arranged alternative arrangements.
"We were occupied with party activities elsewhere." Keep in mind that the election season is approaching. Every party leader, for God's sake, has a whole journal."
"I'm sure you have people who have come all the way from Mandera to visit you in Nairobi; you can't just leave them for lunch."
You must pay attention to them since they are your party's future.
"We got the invites and have no reservations about seeing the president; we have done so previously and will do so again." Wetangula clarified the situation.
Mudavadi raised consternation on January 15 when he skipped an OKA retreat in Naivasha.
The ANC leader said that he was unable to attend the meeting because he was preparing for his party's National Delegates Conference on January 23.
Uhuru has publicly stated his support for Odinga's presidential ambition, prompting speculation that he is attempting to mobilize OKA behind the Azimio La Umoja Movement.
