The DCI intelligence service has issued a statement of eight wanted suspects who have been trained, armed and dangerous terror suspects, some of whom are linked to the Al Shabaab terrorist group.
The Director of Investigation, George Kinoti, has urged the public to provide any information that will assist in the arrest of the suspects.
The suspects include Mohamud Abdi Aden known as Mohamed Yare from Garissa County, Abdikadir Mohamed Abdikadir known as Ikrim, Ahmed Ali Mohamed and Mohamed Ali Hussein, Kassim Musa Mwarusi, Peter Gichungu Njoroge, Erick Njoroge Wachira and Abdurahman Hija.
According to intelligence officers Mohamed Ali Hussein and Ahmed Ali Mohamed, they were part of the Al-Shabaab attack in 2018.
The DCI said Abdurahman Hija aka Mnubi and Erick Njoroge Wachira aka Mohamed, were part of a gang that was harassing Nyeri residents.
Abdikadir Mohamed Abdikadir has been linked to the Yemeni terrorist group Al-Qaeda. He was involved in the Dusit attack in 2019 and the Kampala bombing in 2010.
Peter Gichungu, a former student of JKUAT University, was arrested in Mandera on his way to join Alshabab.
He was indicted and later released on March 6, 2020, and after a short stay in the country, he traveled to Somalia to join Alshabab accompanied by his girlfriend Miriam Hamisi.
The DCI believes that the suspects, who are armed and have been identified as dangerous, are in the country to carry out terrorist attacks.
DCI director George Kinoti has called on the public to release any information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
