A Twitter user tweeted a video of a guy caught on camera stealing from a vehicle bringing pineapples to Thika's Demonte Company.
Armed with a sack, the middle-aged guy hopped on the lorry as the driver slowed down on a bump and hung himself perilously before taking some pineapples.
After completing his mission, he took to the skies.
Such instances, according to Twitter users, are regular in Makongeni.
"They lose a lot of pineapples around Makongeni."
A Twitter user who witnessed the same occurrence last week said, "I observed one lorry delayed in traffic last week and around ten looters did the same thing."
"This happens all the time in Makongeni." I keep asking myself if preventing this theft is rocket science. For example, they make a detachable cage with reinforced wire mesh to protect the framework, leaving no place for the hustlers to attach to the truck. "C'mon Del Monte, you can do better than this," said another.
