Rashid Echesa, the former Sports Cabinet Secretary, has revealed that he had an affair with Mary Kilobi, a KTN Swahili presenter, before she married COTU head Francis Atwoli.
Speaking at the Kenya Kwanza rally at Kakamega County's Amalemba grounds, Echesa boasted that Kilobi knows him better than she knows Atwoli.
Listen, Kilobi, you knew me before Atwoli. Kilobi is more familiar with me than Atwoli. "She was my broom before she went to Atwoli," Echesa remarked, as the audience burst out laughing.
His comments came only days after Kilobi asked Echesa and Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa to refrain from using her name in their campaigns.
Kilobi resorted to her Instagram account to challenge politicians to promote their political agendas and manifestos rather than mention her at rallies because she is not a politician.
"Are you saying you don't have a manifesto?" Sell your agendas and keep my name off of your lips.
Ironically, most of the males who yell the loudest about Kilobi the "25-year-old" are frequent visitors to Kajiado.

Echesa also criticized Atwoli, questioning why President Kenyatta chose him as his main advisor considering his advanced age.
You may be aware that Francis Atwoli is 78 years old and currently serves as President Uhuru Kenyatta's senior advisor.
"You can tell that our country requires prayers," the former CS added.
