Sabina Chege, a Murang'a Woman Representative, has been called by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for suggesting that vote-rigging is feasible in elections, and that "even this one we can."

"I've heard people claim we manipulated things, and there's some truth to that." So, if we can rig that one, we can rig this one as well.
"They (opponents) think they're the wisest," she remarked Thursday in Vihiga, alongside fellow Azimio La Umoa-leaning MPs.
The statements sparked outrage on social media, with leaders and fans of Deputy President William Ruto demanding she back up her claims.
The IEBC wrote to her on Friday, demanding that she appear for interrogation on Tuesday next week to establish if she had broken election procedures.
"You are ordered to visit the Commission's Offices at Anniversary Towers, 6th floor, on the 15th day of February 2022 at 9:00 a.m. for an examination under the Electoral Code of Conduct," Chebukati added.
