KDF Officer Arrested for Defiling 12-year-old Child

A KDF security officer has been arrested for sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl in the Langas area of Uasin Gishu county.

According to DCI Criminal Investigation Officers, "the private officer, Elly Kipkoech, of 9KA, Second Brigade, is currently being held at Langas police station for sexually abusing a 12-year-old seventh-grade student in Eldoret."

The girl, who arrived home on Saturday at 1.30pm, told her mother that she was late after being abducted by a man who had sexually assaulted her.

After further investigation, her mother discovered blood in the girl's underwear.

After reporting to police, DCI officers tracked down and found the suspect in Green Park Street, where he went into hiding and arrested him.

Private Elly Kipkoech is currently under investigation according to military law after being identified by the victim.

The two have undergone a medical examination at Moi Referral and Medical Hospital.

"The DCI Department is on high alert following the escalation of sexual violence and is committed to arresting all actors regardless of their place in society," said DCI.
