Leaving aside the story of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the other one that has recently shocked and sparked a heated debate is that of AliKiba, king of Bongo Fleva and C.E.O of the Kings Music Label, and his wife, Amina.
According to several Kenyan media outlets, Amina accused Kiba of ending their marriage.
It was alleged that Amina cited infidelity, insults, and frustration from her in-laws as among the factors that led her to agree to the dissolution of the alliance.
Amina said this started just six months after the wedding.
It was alleged that on February 10, this year, the Kadhi Court in Mombasa gave Kiba 15 days to decide whether the case would continue in his absence.
In a Kadhi Court order, "In the event of failure to appear within the time specified, the complainant may proceed with the proceedings and the judgment may be rendered in his absence."
According to court documents, on January 8, last year, Amina went to the Kadhi Court seeking to end her marriage to Kiba.
It was alleged that Amina said she was not provided with a safe and secure environment in their marriage home in Dar.
The affidavit states that the respondent (Kiba) has made a mockery of their marriage by engaging in disrespectful conduct in public demonstrations of adultery with various women, completely ignoring the petitioner's feelings.
Amina allegedly claimed that after the birth of their first child on February 19, 2019, Kiba left her without food or basic necessities in their home. She was breastfeeding at the time.
In the foregoing, it is clear that the respondent (Kiba) has been doing things that are not expected of a married person and completely ignores the feelings of the petitioners, thus causing pain, anguish, mental anguish, grief, and psychological suffering, according to a court paper.
Amina was quoted as saying, "The marriage has been severely broken and there is no chance of salvation."
It was alleged that Amina wanted the marriage dissolved and demanded payment of 200,000 Kenyan shillings, equivalent to 4 million Tanzanian shillings per month for her and the children.
However, the good news and joy of it all is that after Kiba stormed into Mombasa, Kenya and reunited with his family once again, what is interpreted as a good step to end their differences.
This is after the release of a new video of Kiba on Kenyan networks showing him playing with his two sons, endowed by Amina, Keyaan, and Kamran.
In that video, Kina is heard calling her youngest son, Kamran, and asking him to pose for pictures while the voice of a woman who is believed to be their mother is heard.
Some fans have expressed satisfaction with the act, believing now that things are fine in his marriage, as that is a clear indication that he has ended it with his wife, Amina.
Kiba and Amina got married on April 19, 2018 in Mombasa, Kenya, where they have been going through different periods, as are most marriages now.
