According to him, the action of the club's players to wear uniforms with the sponsor's logo in black instead of red is a violation.
Tanzania TFF is sponsored by NBC Bank i.e. National Bank of Commerce whose logo is a red giraffe, a color that is often associated with the Simba SC team which is the main rival of Yanga SC. The Tanzania Premier League Board provided an opportunity for the sponsor and management of Yanga Sc to decide on the color of the logo where they agreed that the logo on Yanga SC jerseys should be black.
Haji Manara who is the main spokesperson for the Yanga team and who previously held the same position in the Simba team, was quoted in early October as saying that Yanga will never use the red logo.
He defended his position saying Yanga follows the principles laid down by its founders and the colors of the clubs which are green, yellow and black.
