KeNHA council chairman, engineer Wangai Ndirangu, said so far the contractors who have been awarded the tender to pave the more than 500 kilometers of road have already paved 10 kilometers of the road and expect to pave more than 50 kilometers by December this year.
Speaking in Kiamara, Murang'a County when he led the council's engineers to inspect the road, Ndirangu reiterated the importance of the road, saying it would significantly boost the agricultural sector through the road network.
He added that the council is committed to ensuring that all roads are built with due regard to the high standards of construction.
Kungu Ndungu said the Mau Mau road will boost tourism in the Aberdare area which has beautiful landscapes and historic sites.
